What is coaching?

What are your fees?
I offer free, trial sessions, so that we can discover if we are a fit for one another. As much as I believe that I am an excellent (and modest) coach, I am not the right coach for everyone, nor is everyone the right client for me. If I feel we are not a fit, I may recommend another coach who might better serve your needs. Once we decide to take our coaching relationship to the next level, we will make an agreement, and we will do our longer initial intake and assessments. I request (but do not require) a minimum commitment of three months. You are encouraged to visit my blog site for my current fee schedule on the left side, at http://coaching.andrewporetz.com, where your comments are more than welcome.
What forms of payment do you accept?
I accept PayPal online, which means that you can use any major credit card or a bank debit. I will soon accept credit cards directly. I accept checks by mail but only for advance payments at least two weeks prior to the start of a month.
What are the promises of Ingenuity Coaching?
While it is not possible to have guarantees of specific outcomes in coaching, I do make certain promises. I promise to have integrity, to be fair, to not judge you, to always give my best. I honor all appointments. If something will prevent me from keeping an appointment (within 15 minutes) and you are unable to accommodate a schedule change, you will get a pro-rated refund for that session AND an additional free coaching session.
What training has Coach Andrew had?
I am a 2007 graduate of International Coach Academy [link], which is accredited by the International Coach Federation. I have a quarter century of training in personal and professional development. As a consultant in the early days of personal computers, I did work for hundreds of companies in New York, where I learned much about the inner workings of Corporate America. I have also had extensive experience and success in direct sales and network marketing, where I learned such skills as team building and leadership training, and persuasion skills.
Homework? Why is the Coach giving me homework?
It is said that without action, no coaching takes place. The biggest results of coaching come from the actions you take between sessions. I will give you assignments designed to put you into action every week so that you get the fastest possible results from our sessions.

The coaching relationship is collaborative and personalized. A coach offers a partnership with the client and helps guide and support the client in making life changes by providing instruction, structure, motivation, strategies, and tools. During the partnership, the coach helps the client gain clarity, establish priorities, set goals, and learn strategies to make lasting changes to meet the stated goals. The coaching exists to overcome both anticipated and unexpected challenges and to hold the client accountable for the goals. Using assessment, problem solving, goal setting, and open dialogue, the coach helps focus clients to produce results more quickly than they would have on their own.
Ah, but you want specifics, don’t you? Try some of these on:
When and where does the coaching take place?
Typically, the coaching occurs during scheduled telephone calls over a period of several months, and some clients retain coaching indefinitely, as they might with a fitness trainer. I have limited availability for face-to-face sessions in New York
Initially, a weekly coaching session is the most reliable means in which the client can take meaningful and sustainable steps in the context of a structured coaching relationship.
Although I work with clients during structured "coaching sessions." the majority of progress occurs between sessions, when the client implements the actions that were determined by the client and coach to lead to the most effective results. The coach and client may also communicate via e-mail exchange if indicated by the coaching plan.
Whatever or how outrageous your goals may be—coaching can help you get there, and bigger and faster than you likely would on your own.
Do you offer coach training?
Could you use specific skills to get the best out of people in your team, organization or department by using team building and coaching fundamentals? Or perhaps you are a professional who wants to add coaching skills to your toolbox? I offer an exclusive, hands-on three-month coaching program (for groups of up to ten people) that will transform the way your team communicates with others, with senior management, and with you – and even with their families, and create results you never thought possible. Private training is also available. For more information and a course syllabus, contact Coach Andrew toll-free at 888-283-7476, or by e-mail. |
